If there’s a tendency for anger, irritation, inflammation, or excess heat in the body, red coral should be smaller in size, or substituted for pink or peach coral which is less intense. It can often be worn with pearl to keep things in physiological balance. Red coral is warming to the body, while pearl is cooling.
Red coral, the primary gemstone for Mars
Red coral strengthens Mars, the planet that rules the Aries ascendant. It is the most direct gemstone choice for Mars, but the right size and color still depend on the individual. It can be worn as a ring or a pendant. It’s most commonly set in gold, but silver is sometimes used to cool it down energetically.
Yellow sapphire is generally one of the safest and most auspicious choices for Aries rising. It is classically connected with wisdom, good fortune, dharma and divine grace.
Ruby is associated with empowerment, authority, success and creative potential. Pinkish-red rubies can be effective without being too overheating.
Pearl strengthens the Moon and is often worn to support emotional balance, calm and a cooling influence.
Aries rising should avoid blue sapphire and emerald. Blue sapphire’s cold quality does not match this ascendant’s physiological constitution. Emerald is also unsuitable because Mercury predominantly rules the 6th house of conflict in the Aries chart.

Pink and peach coral are practical substitutes for red coral. These secondary stones are sometimes described as uparatnas. They strengthen Mars and carry the same astrological significations, but they usually feel less heating and less concentrated than deep red coral.
They’re normally chosen because they’re more affordable. We offer them in larger sizes to account for their milder strength.
Ruby for the Sun, yellow sapphire for Jupiter, and pearl for the Moon are also considered in many Aries charts.
The Sun rules the 5th house of intelligence, creativity, children, and good karmic potential. Ruby may support confidence, leadership, vitality, creativity, and a clearer sense of purpose.
Jupiter rules the 9th house of dharma, teachers, higher knowledge, and good fortune. Yellow sapphire may support wisdom, optimism, education, spiritual understanding, and helpful guidance.
